STUNNING stained glass windows from churches near Stourport are featured in a new book.
Pictures of "The Good Shepherd" window at All Saints Church at Wilden and the "Angel with Palm and Violin" at St Leonard church at Ribbesford are among more than 500 images of windows contained in the lavishly–illustrated book, Damozels and Deities.
The 400-page volume is written by art historian William Waters, the world authority on Pre-Raphaelite stained glass, including the artist Edward Burne-Jones, who designed both the Wilden and Ribbesford windows.
All the photographs have been taken by an award-winning architectural photographer from Worcestershire, Alastair Carew-Cox.
Mr Carew-Cox said: “It's been an honour and a privilege to work on Damozels and Deities.
“The book traces the development of stained glass windows as an art form in the three decades 1870 to the death of Burne-Jones in 1898.
“The Good Shepherd at Wilden and Angel with Palm and Violin at Ribbesford are fine examples of that Pre-Raphaelite artistry."...
